Spacetime Continuum of Sound is an interactive sound art piece based off the decommissioned underground cistern where Pauline Oliveros and her Deep Listening Band recorded and performed experimental musical pieces.
The digital space uses extreme reverberation to simulate a soundscape that is both mediative and otherworldly. The experience is made up of a curated collection of countless samples and field recordings. All sounds are randomly and dynamically layered to create a unique sound experience for each player.
An optional microphone allows the player to augment the soundscape with their own voice or sound making tools. The physical environment the player is in also contributes to the soundscape.
This provides the opportunity of an exhibition that changes depending on the ambience of the space it resides in, making locality a material property of the project
